Ongoing control of stored films enables immediate and effective actions to be launched that allow to considerably delay the process of degradation. The main aim of regular reviews is to verify and document the preserved state, acquire missing information and detect the causes of the potential deterioration of the film’s condition. Film materials are subject to a range of tests aimed at marking the degree of decomposition, measuring the shrinking of the base or detecting a microbiological attack. These works enable us to select the best preserved films for duplication.
