THE FILM DATABASE [ BAZA FILMÓW ]
The film database covered by the project of 'Conservation and digitalization of pre-war feature films at the National Film Archive in Warsaw', posted on the website: www.nitrofilm.pl, will be the first comprehensive database of films and filmmakers of the pre-war cinema. Detailed descriptions of films include:
- a synopsis
- a film overview
- quotations from reviews and interviews from the pre-war press (with the original pre-war spelling preserved!)
- miscellaneous items of interest connected with the production of the film
- a gallery containing stills, film programmes and press advertisements
The film database will also comprise biographical notes of pre-war filmmakers with:
- a biography
- a complete filmography
- quotes from interviews and excerpts from press and books concerning a given person
- stills
The film database will be regularly supplemented with information obtained from extensive archive-related data checks. It will contain a lot of information that has not been published since pre-war times. As the project progresses from stage to stage, film clips will be added to the film overviews in the database.
